Stopped into Route 65 Pub & Grub for an afternoon bite and was happy to find an open seat right at the bar. The atmosphere was easygoing and comfortable, which is exactly what you want when you’re just looking to relax, grab some good food, and enjoy a solid meal. I ordered the California burger and added Swiss cheese, because cheese is rarely the wrong decision. The burger was tasty, fresh, and hit the spot. Everything worked well together, and the Swiss was a great add-on. I had the tater tots on the side with seasoned sour cream, and that was absolutely the right move. The tots were crispy, flavorful, and the seasoned sour cream gave them that little extra something that makes you keep going back for “just one more” until somehow they disappear. Service was great from start to finish. Sitting at the bar can sometimes be hit or miss depending on how busy things are, but everything was handled well. I felt taken care of without being hovered over, which is the perfect balance. Overall, Route 65 Pub & Grub was a great afternoon stop. Good food, good service, comfortable atmosphere, and a burger-and-tots combo that definitely did its job. I’d happily stop back again.
Our trap league goes to Route 65 Pub & Grub every Wednesday after league night, and it has become one of our favorite weekly traditions. We’ve tried a lot of different meals over time, but my personal favorites are the burgers, boneless wings, quesadilla, and the ham & cheese sandwich. The hand-cut fries and waffle fries with their seasoned sour cream are seriously so good. The desserts… I’ve heard (but haven’t officially confirmed) that they’re made fresh daily in-house by the owner’s mother. If that is true, they might be the best desserts in the world. I have a huge sweet tooth and usually order dessert everywhere I go, and these are hands down some of the best. Great food, great atmosphere, and the perfect spot to end a Wednesday night with friends.
The atmosphere got three stars because it's nothing special. The service was amazing. They were very busy, and the waitress was spot on for everyone. Every need, she was just so great. Never crabby and very fast. They had specials in the food, which was all good. It was hot, very flavorful and very plentiful. We took home leftovers. Personally, I don't like prime rib, but my daughter and my husband loved it. I had the french dip sandwich, and I highly recommend their waffle, fries, and their excellent waffle fry dip. It was one of the best i've ever had. My husband had their night special of the wings, a dollar a piece. And holy cow, those wings were huge! One of the coolest things I have to say is they had the TequilaBerry's salad with the prime rib dinner, and that was an awesome throwback. My husband and I shared that.
Food here is always great! Prices aren't bad, service has always been good and fast. The place can get loud on a busy evening, but that's to be expected. The tequila berry salad is by far my favorite and you can't get it anywhere else. Always a good place to stop for good food and a cold drink.
Great dive bar in East Bethel close to the movie theater. If you can navigate your way through the maze of turnarounds on hwy 65, Route 65 is worth the drive. Perfect service on a Sunday afternoon, all servers are well trained and attentive. This place has ridiculous options for food. Appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, Wings, Pizza, salads, and breakfast during the morning. It's truly refreshing to dine at a place where you can actually get a medium rare burger. Both times I've been here I got the same spicy burger the Harley Inferno. Definitely a top 10 burger that I've ever had! Sloppy, spicy and smoky bacon. Maybe I'll try something else next time, probably not.
