You always hear horror stories about contractors or people doing work on your house, etc. but working with GTFM was quite literally the opposite from the moment we met them. We had them put an addition on our side yard, consisting of a new bedroom and a large family room and the process was seamless. every cost was itemized, no payments until the project started and their communication and response time for any questions or concern was timely. The entire project was complete ahead of schedule and we were never waiting on them to get things finished. I was very nervous going into this project, but I could not have asked for a better experience. I can’t wait to watch the Giants lose in my new living room!!!
We reached out to GTFM in August of 2021 regarding a kitchen remodel / addition. They were very responsive and provided a plan that worked for my wife and me. Their work was very high quality. They offered creative options when we weren’t sure what we needed. Very pleased with the workmanship and the communication. You don’t get good communication with lots of contractors. GTFM provided excellent communication throughout the entire job. I would definitely recommend them for any addition or home project.
I decided to write this review after living in our newly remodeled home for over six months. I rely heavily on online reviews when choosing companies, and I know there are others like me, so I hope this helps. After speaking with several builders, I found that GTFM stood out from the rest. From the beginning, Steve, Rick and his team treated my home like it was their own. I didn’t just feel like a client, they made it feel personal. The GTFM team communicated with care, honesty, and a true sense of commitment. We undertook a complete home remodel plus addition, and GTFM gave us a realistic timeline of 16 weeks. Despite some delays due to the town’s permit process, the project could have been finished even sooner. Throughout the process, Rick Sr. was incredibly attentive, responding promptly and addressing every issue with a clear plan. One of the most impressive things was their design input. Some of their ideas initially seemed risky or unconventional to us, but the final results were structurally sound, functional, and beautiful. They knew what they were doing. GTFM is what I would consider a medium-range builder in terms of budget. Like most builders, they stick strictly to what's in the agreement, so I’d recommend setting aside some extra funds for unexpected upgrades or changes during construction. That said, the value we received for the cost was outstanding. We both work full-time and didn’t always have the time to stay on top of every detail, but the GTFM team followed through every week on what was discussed. They were on-site daily and consistently moved the project forward without delays. Even after the work was completed, their support didn’t end. Four months after moving in, I had an issue with a cooler setting, and they sent someone over the very next morning. Their responsiveness and commitment after completion are truly commendable. My wife and I did intensive research to find a contractor. We met with several companies, but the comfort level was not there. Some seemed too eager to start without explaining the process, others were not professional, and the rest were not knowledgeable on the permits and process to complete a project in the Clifton area. We finally met with GTFM, and all of those worries and concerns disappeared. The consultant was very professional and went out his way to explain the process. I especially liked that they were flexible with the hours and managed to meet with us late afternoon after we arrived home from work. Our project is nearly done, almost four weeks ahead of schedule! Every individual that set foot at our home was professional, courteous, and always willing to answer any question. The owner, Rick Mawker, routinely passed by the house to ensure things were going well. Rick and his son were excellent in communicating and keeping us informed on every single detail. The addition is beautiful and everything is of high quality. They don't take any shortcuts and take pride in their work. I highly recommend GTFM to anyone who is looking to do any type of addition.
